SeaFest — Landlubbers!

SeaFest landlubbers don’t get off lightly. The programme on shore includes everything from vintage games to story telling, and from diving to guided walks, sand sculpting workshops and crab fishing contests.

SeaFest and Earagail Arts Festival host 2 days of landlubbing vintage fairground games, beach races and sea urchin workshops on the beaches of Rathmullan — all accompanied by some very fishy storytelling characters and aquatic street theatre.

On both Saturday and Sunday Ladder 13 will be giving you the opportunity to try out your sporting prowess in the beach-based Landlubber’s Cup – competing in a variety of our hugely popular traditional games, tied to a friend in the 3-legged race, or on your own in the sack and the egg-and-spoon races.

Or you can simply hang out and spectate, enjoying the judges’ and race adjudicators’ hilarious treatment of the competitors. If racing is much too competitive or you just want to compete against yourself, test your strength on the Hammer & Bell, knock the coconut from the shy or pop a sponge at your friends and family on the Peek Stall.

Throughout the day, on both days, workshop facilitators will provide 1-hour arts and maritime themed workshops for young creative minds.
